• The Mayor and Council adopted an Ordinance approving the updated Tucson City Golf rate structure. The current fee schedule for Tucson City Golf facilities was approved by the Mayor and Council in December 2015. The max rate fee sets the maximum the operator can charge for each round of golf. In the past two peak golf seasons (January through May), Tucson City Golf has charged the max rate fees. The current max rates are unable to address two critical needs: 1) increased operating costs due to inflation, 2) generate sufficient revenue for improvements to the golf courses. These two critical needs can be met by Increasing the max rate fee.
• The Mayor and Council adopted an Ordinance changing the Reid Park Zoo Admission Fees. Reid Park Zoo is an accredited zoo which maintains an impressive collection of animals and participates extensively in conservation programs worldwide, dedicated to the preservation of endangered species. Through its current fee program, the Zoo offers several discount opportunities for the public and can demonstrate the number of low income families that have benefited year to date from these programs.

The increase of fees is not anticipated to impact a successful discount/free admissions program to ensure equitable access to enjoy the Zoo and its facilities.
